Questions are welcome
Farm-direct meat, explained.
Everything you need to know before reserving a share. If your question is not here, text the farmer.
What is a meat share?+
A meat share is a portion of an animal raised by River Cade Farms and custom processed for your family. You reserve the share before processing, choose your cuts, then receive sealed, freezer-ready meat.
What does the $250 deposit cover?+
The deposit reserves your animal and processing place. It is not an extra fee; the full $250 is applied to your final total.
Can I choose my cuts?+
Yes. We help you complete the butcher's cut sheet in plain English, including steak thickness, sausage, bacon, roasts, hams, and other choices available for your share.
How much freezer space do I need?+
Plan for about 4–5 cubic feet for a half hog or quarter beef, 7–10 cubic feet for a whole hog or half beef, and 16–20 cubic feet for a whole beef.
When will my meat be ready?+
Processing dates are seasonal. We confirm current availability and the expected timeline before you place a deposit.
Do you offer pickup or delivery?+
We arrange convenient pickup or direct delivery in Central Alabama when available. Visits and farm pickups are by appointment.
What if I have never bought meat from a farm?+
First-time buyers are welcome. You do not need to understand hanging weights or cut sheets before contacting us—we walk you through each decision.
Where do you serve?+
We serve families throughout Central Alabama, including Tallassee, Wetumpka, Auburn, Montgomery, Prattville, Pike Road, Eclectic, Dadeville, Alexander City, Lake Martin, and the Birmingham metro area.
